I haven’t disappeared!
Hello lovely readers. I realise I start a lot of my posts with an apology for not posting regularly and I can only apologise again. I have had a busy few months with lots of ups and downs.
The last time I posted was just before my dear grandmother passed away. I lived with my granny for 25 years before I got married and moved away. She had a hand in raising me, my brother and my cousins and we all miss her dearly. At 88 years old, she lived a good life and we can only be happy that she left us surrounded by her loving family.
Going through all the final customs and funeral at 8 months pregnant was rough. But I got through it with the support of my wonderful friends and family. And then shortly after I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl Amara.
So as you can imagine the past few months have been consumed with sleepless nights, feeding, changing and adjusting to a new life with two. Therefore hasn’t left much time for my food photography! Let’s hope over my maternity leave that I can still dabble in my work where I can. After all it is what I love to do.
It was my eldest daughter’s 4th birthday a few days ago. And I made the insane decision to bake her birthday cake, alongside looking after a two month old baby. What was I thinking?! It took me 3 days to finish. And that’s not because it’s a work of art (because it’s really not!), it’s because I was disturbed by a newborn. Who knew they needed so much attention! I realise it looks very amateurish but it brought a huge smile to my daughter’s face and that’s the only reason I did it. However next year I plan to order a cake and sit down with a cup of tea.
This was just a quick post to say I am still here and as always, hope to continue with my blog. You may just have to bear with my inconsistency during my rollercoaster ride of motherhood. It’s the best job in the world.
I hope you’re all well and getting settled into the season of cosy nights, comfort food and Autumn walks. Thank you for reading 🙂
