Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all my lovely readers! Before everyone dives deep into the festivities, I wanted to get in one last post to wish you all well for the holidays.

I know this time of year can be incredibly busy for some, emotional for others or just simply magical. Whatever it means to you, I hope you’re well. I do love Christmas. I love the decorations and the food, I love watching Christmas movies (although I fall asleep a lot nowadays!) and everything else that comes with the season.

We managed to bake some gingerbread biscuits over the weekend and it was comical. My little toddler wanted to do everything her big sister did and it was chaos but I loved it. As well as visiting friends and family, Santa’s grotto and many other activities, I also want to try and slow down a little bit. Life is a little hectic so this is our one chance to cosy up.

I’ll be making Christmas dinner in a couple of days like many of you, but I’ll be honest, I’m not the biggest fan of turkey so this year my husband and I have chosen to have something different. I’m going to do roast lamb, which I know is more an Easter dish but it didn’t bother me. We want to eat something we love and something that feels special. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll still happily eat roast turkey if it was cooked for me!

I also plan to eat my weight in cheese. I’m not sure why we only wait for Christmas time to do a cheese board. Maybe my new years resolution is to make more cheese boards throughout the year. My favourites are Boursin and camembert. I’m not quite grown up enough to eat blue cheese but never say never. What do you like to eat over the festive period?

And of course there will be lots of sweet treats! This is a throwback to my chocolate orange profiteroles as I didn’t quite have enough time for a festive shoot this year. With sickness bugs, two kids and lots of social events, time ran away from me. I know, I know, I’ll do better next year!

Whatever you do this Christmas, I hope it brings you joy. I’ll be switching off from social media until the new year. It’s something I like to do every Christmas as it gives my mind a break from all the stimulation. Let’s hope 2025 will be an epic year!

Merry Christmas and thanks for reading 🙂 Have a great time!
