Hello lovely followers. How are you all? I hope you had a nice bank holiday weekend? Even though the weather is more unpredictable than ever!
With all these bank holidays I don’t know if we are coming or going. We can’t complain though, it’s been lovely to have a few long weekends. A chance to catch up with friends and family, birthday parties, baking and cleaning the house!
Work has also been busy lately which is great. I recently realised that I never get a chance to share much of what I do. It’s either top secret or I simply don’t get around to it. So I thought I’d share a photoshoot that I did a few months back that I simply loved.
The Brief
The shoot was with Very Lazy, a company that specialises in flavour packed products to make cooking easier but still taste incredible. The brief was to shoot their new range of products in use with recipes that customers can be inspired by. The recipes were written by their in-house (and very talented) chef and they wanted me to style the shots as well as shoot them. Exciting!
It’s a tall order to style and photograph food at the same time, however I was up for the challenge. The chef did all the cooking and gave me all the elements to the dish and I had to put it all together and photograph it.
I loved this shoot so much as I had creative reign to shoot these recipes the way I saw fit. I was working with a lovely team to oversee the shoot and help me out with logistics, and then the rest was left to me! No pressure.

The Challenges
The only challenge we really faced was the sheer volume of images we needed to shoot. However as a team, we smashed it. The chef was working at lightening speed cooking away whilst we were in the studio shooting. I had a lovely team member named Emily to assist me with the shoot and between us we were able to get the food and products on set quickly and cleared quickly too.
I had the Director and Marketing Manager approving the images and they were fantastic to work with. A shoot really goes smoothly when the people involved are kind and efficient at what they do.

I truly love doing what I do. I love making food come alive and styling it in a way that makes the viewers mouth water. And the best part of the job is eating the food afterwards! I have to say the recipes we shot were absolutely delicious. You can find them all here at www.verylazy.com. And if you come across their products in the supermarket I urge you to try them, they really do add a flavour boost to your food. You won’t regret it!

Thanks so much for reading! I will try and share more of my work when I can. Have you tried Very Lazy products yet? Let me know if you have 🙂
