Boiled Egg and Soldiers

Happy Friday everyone πŸ™‚

Is there anything better than a simple boiled egg and soldiers? It’s something my husband and I both loved as kids and now our children love it too. Why is it so fun to eat? Is it the anticipation to see if the yolk is runny or not? Or is it the sensation of dunking hot buttery toast into a warm soft egg sprinkled with a little Maldon sea salt? Who knows. All I know is that it works.

It works even better when you use the best ingredients too. I splurged this week and treated us to some Clarence court Burford brown eggs and Jason’s sourdough. I’ll be honest I don’t buy these products weekly because we go through so much bread and eggs in our house, we would need a second mortgage.

However I regularly buy Jasons sourdough and put the loaf in my freezer. Then on the weekend when my husband and I want to enjoy a nice brunch, we bust out with the good stuff. And the Clarence court eggs are a real treat. They are the most luxurious eggs I have ever tasted, just check out the colour of that yolk!

As you can tell, I’m quite easy to please. Sometimes you just need a simple dippy egg and soldiers on a Saturday morning. If you haven’t tried either of these products, I highly recommend them πŸ™‚

How do you like to eat your eggs? Go on, let me know in the comments below. Have an eggcellent weekend πŸ˜‰
