Who is enjoying Wimbledon this year?
I absolutely love watching Wimbledon. I have followed it for years as my Dad got me interested in it and I became more and more hooked. We used to sit for long afternoons eating popcorn and watching nervously as the contestants battled it out.
I love how professional the game of Tennis is. Everyone (mostly) is very sportsman like and plays the game without complaining that the other contestant has hurt their feelings. Its a game of skill and endurance and I love it.
I’ve always dreamt about going to Wimbledon. I want to sit on Henman hill and soak in the atmosphere. I want to sit in crowds of Centre court and take in the magnitude of the space and feel the silence around me before the players strike.
But most importantly, I want to try the food at Wimbledon. I have no idea what they have, but I do know that they have strawberries and cream. The two simply go hand in hand like fish and chips at the seaside. I dream to sit in the stands eating my strawberries and cream whilst engrossed in a match between my favourite players. If anyone would like to take me, please get in touch!
Strawberries and cream is such a simple combination but such a winning one. I whipped up some double cream with icing sugar and the seeds from a vanilla pod and it was absolutely heavenly. Vanilla truly is an incredible ingredient isn’t it? Sometimes I can’t believe what nature is capable of.
And whipped cream. What can I say? A silky smooth cream dolloped over some sweet strawberries is just beautiful. Be careful not to over whip it though, or you will be left with some sweetened vanilla butter! (That actually sounds quite yummy).
Anyway, wherever you are this summer and whether you enjoy the tennis or not, try whipping up yourself some strawberries and cream and devour whilst enjoying the sunshine!
By the way, who are you rooting for this year? I am rooting for Djokovic and Jabeur. Let me know in the comments below!
