Pumpkin Spice Cinnamon Rolls

Happy Halloween everyone! Now although this is not exactly a spooky Halloween post, it’s inspired by the flavours that everyone is enjoying at the moment. Isn’t Autumn just beautiful? Look at these gorgeous leaves we found around our house. I just love the colours.

What is Pumpkin Spice?

I started to see pumpkin spice everywhere and wasn’t sure what it actually was. Google tells me it’s simply the spices that Americans use in a pumpkin pie. I looked up a recipe and realised I had all the spices in my pantry. So I thought let’s add them to some cinnamon buns! Here’s the recipe for the spice blend – Pumpkin Spice.

I haven’t added any pumpkin purée to these buns as I didn’t have any. It’s just a little twist on the classic.

I followed a recipe from Cupcake Jemma’s YouTube channel and it worked a charm. Dane was brilliant and gave very clear instructions. These aren’t your usual rolled cinnamon buns, these are knotted and baked in a muffin tin. They look so pretty!

I have to say this recipe is full proof. They tasted like something you would buy from a bakery. The dough was so soft on the inside and crisp on the outside. And the warm spices were absolutely delicious. I did have to bake mine for a little longer than the recipe said but that’s because my oven is a little temperamental.

They also didn’t take very long to make. So if you have a little free time on a weekend I highly recommend these! They are great for breakfast, tea time or even dessert. And they are very therapeutic to make.

Let me know if you give them a try! What have you got planned this Halloween? Have you been making any festive recipes? I’d love to know! Leave me a comment below 😊
